Our story...ha! Depends on who you ask! Let's just go with the bit both of us can agree to:

Leslie and Jimmie met in 2003 at the club.  Yes.  The club. Specifically one called the Firehouse in Columbus GA. Dispelling all myths here! You can indeed find love in the club! We journeyed through years of long distance love until grace (and a lot of patience) brought both of us to Atlanta - at the same time. So here we are, happy in Cobb County GA ready to do this marriage thang! Our motto: After the wedding comes a marriage and that should be the focus. 

For Jimmie's folks that have not yet had the occasion of meeting Leslie, here are a few facts :)

• Army brat who calls Hampton, VA home (valley girl indeed!)


• has a charming and clever 5 year old son named Nathaniel


• works in IT finance for CHEP in Atlanta


• alum of James Madison University (Go Dukes!)


• very proud (and active) member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc who adores Harry Potter and would win big on the game show Jeopardy!

We owe the world (and probably millions $$) to our parentals Leslie & Brenda Corridon and Jimmie & Mildred Hooks. Collectively, they've been married for over 75 years!  Talk about solid foundations!

Guests of highest honor include our children (Zavier, Alyssa and Nathaniel), our siblings and their families (Cusetta, Maledia, Loletia, Kawana, Jonathan, Benjamin and Tiffany) and our wedding party:

The rehearsal for the wedding participants will be at 230p Saturday August 30th. Timing is inflexible as the venue has another wedding that day. 

Instead of the traditional rehearsal dinner and in light of the holiday weekend, the groom's family will be hosting a wedding-eve cookout on Saturday for the bridal party & special guests.  Please contact the bride or groom for details.

Our wedding and reception will be held at the Conservatory at Waterstone in Acworth, GA.  This is about 35 minutes north of downtown Atlanta. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5pm. Note that if you arrive after that time, the venue attendants will all too polietly (except for the headlock) escort you to the balcony so as not to disturb the ceremony (and save you from the evil eye). So, PLEASE PLEASE for the sake of humanity arrive at 430p so you will have a good seat. We love you but we're just sayin! Like the Saints, the bridal party will come marching on in at 5 o'clock. Please be accurate on your RSVP card with who is coming as table seating will be assigned.  There will be no seating space for attendees that do not RSVP.  Space is limited and we must provide an accurate headcount for meal purposes.  Please contact us first before including a guest on your RSVP that we did not specifically name on your invitation.  RSVP is requested by July 13th. 

The venue is about 45 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.  If you are flying, please book early as this is Labor Day Weekend.

Disclaimer #1

Okay.  We know it's 2014 and folks like to "capture the moment" with their phones.  However (comma) our wedding will be UNPLUGGED :)  Translation: we have hired professional photographers and videographers  at our wedding and would hate to have your lovely faces obscured in eternal photo/video memories by iPhones and Samsung Galaxies.  As such, with a kind plea, no pictures during the ceremony and reception events.  If you must, use discretion. Be in the moment! Unplug!

Disclaimer #2

Now you know we love the babies (come on now, we have 3 kids ourselves!). However (comma) we are limiting the 12 years and under guests to our sibling's children and even they will have special accomodations they will dig more than sitting with us old folks. The only children allowed in the ceremony are those participating in the ceremony.  Enjoy an adult evening (we sure will!)  If this discourages you from coming, call us first. Hospitality is our middle name!

We have a block of rooms reserved at the following hotels.  Reserve early as they are filling up!

Your presence at our wedding is gift enough but if you do wish to purchase us something, a contribution towards our dream honeymoon would be appreciated. We are traveling to the Hotel Riu Palace in Aruba!
